The S4.0s are new for 2008. Using the experience we have gained with the S3.0s, we have come up with an everyday aerodynamic aluminium clincher wheelset with a 41mm depth that has no weight limits. These wheels have been developed with the idea of providing a deep section wheelset that is not made of carbon and hence can handle the abuse of everyday riding/ training and be used by heavier riders.

Nothing about the performace of these wheels is semi-aero as they feel very much like a 50mm rim but heavier. In fact these are built with the same hubs and spokes as our higher-end wheelsets.

Hand-built from special 41mm deep alloy rims which are corrosion resistant, and allows for a deeper rim without weight penalties. Light enough to race, strong enough to train.s

Fully artisan crafted and handbuilt with equal spoke tensions. Spoke threads are preped before assembly to prevent spoke binding and seizing. All spokes are stress relieved a few times during build process.

  • Rim: 7000 series Alloy. 41mm. Machined braking surface with wear indicator.
  • Bearings: Japanese High Grade Stainless Steel sealed bearings.
  • Hubs: SOUL HUbs, 2 sealed bearings front + 4 sealed bearings rear. Campagnolo and Shimano cassette compatible available.
  • Spokes: Double Butted and bladed 2.3mm 'Sandvick USA' stainless steel spokes. 20 radial laced Front + 24 2 x cross driveside, radial laced non-driveside Rear.
  • Nipples: Brass driveside rear, aluminium radial spokes.
  • Skewers: 90g Lightweight Hollow Chromoly Axle
  • Weight: 740g (Front) 940g (Rear), 1.68kg pair ( weight without skewers)
